Frequently asked questions
Answers about the Ezyhot RV 65,000 BTU dual stage tankless system, including climate and high altitude performance.

Is Ezyhot tankless?
Yes. Ezyhot is a tankless (instantaneous) system with a 65,000 BTU dual stage burner. It heats fresh water on demand through a heat exchanger, so you get continuous hot water without reheat cycles.
What does dual stage burner mean?
The heart of Ezyhot RV is a 65,000 BTU (68.4 MJ/h) dual stage burner. Output modulates with water flow and inlet temperature for more efficient hot water in all climates. Against other dual stage 60,000 BTU units, Ezyhot also focuses on under 5A draw, 50°C certified max outlet, and a published high altitude range.
Does it work in all climates and at high altitude?
Yes. Ezyhot RV is built for efficient hot water across climates, with a published working altitude of 0 to 1,372 m. That documented high altitude rating is a key difference versus many dual stage competitors that do not publish an altitude range.
What fuel and power does it need?
Propane (LP Gas) and 12V DC power (less than 5A). Use upright vapour-phase cylinders only. Do not use horizontal or liquid-withdrawal cylinders. Fuel must be in the gas phase.
What temperature does it deliver?
Certified maximum outlet temperature is 50°C. Setting range is 35°C-50°C. Do not install a tempering valve. It may affect performance and void the warranty.
When does the burner start and stop?
When flow rises above about 1.6 L/min, the burner starts automatically. When flow drops below about 1.0 L/min or the tap is closed, the burner switches off. A temperature stabiliser helps keep outlet temperature steady.
What is the 20 minute timeout?
After 20 minutes of continuous operation, the unit times out and shows an EN code on the controller. This is a standard safety feature. Power the unit off and on to reset. In normal RV use you will usually run low on fresh or grey water before hitting the timeout.
What safety features are included?
Flame monitoring, antifreeze function, reverse polarity protection, low/over voltage shutdown, over current protection, hot water temperature monitoring, blower motor monitoring, temperature fluctuation eliminator, and an AS 3500.4 pressure relief valve.
Who can install the system?
Installation and service must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency, or gas supplier. A certificate of compliance is required. This is not a DIY installation product and is intended for RVs only, not marine or pool use.
What is the warranty?
2 years from purchase. Year one covers parts and labour for defects from faulty materials or workmanship. Year two covers replacement parts only.
How do I winterize or maintain the unit?
Follow the cleaning and maintenance section of the user manual, including draining and cleaning the water inlet filter. For storage or transit, turn off gas and the water heater main switch. Always keep intake and exhaust openings clear.
